Child Visas
These visas allow a dependent child living outside Australia to move and live with their parent in Australia. To be eligible, the child must be dependent on a parent who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
Child Visa 802/101
For the Subclass 802 visa, the child must be in Australia both when the application is submitted and when a decision is made. In contrast, the Subclass 101 visa requires the child to be outside Australia at both of those times.

To qualify for a Child Visa, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Be the dependent child of an eligible parent, or of their parent’s spouse or de facto partner, who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

- Have written consent to migrate to Australia from all individuals who hold legal custody of the child.
Benefits of the Child Visa
The primary benefit of a Child Visa is that it allows a child to live in Australia with their parent, helping families stay together. It supports family unity by enabling parents and children to build a life together in Australia without long-term separation.
