Prospective Marriage Visa 300
If you plan to marry an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen, you may be eligible for the Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300). This visa allows you to enter and stay in Australia for up to 15 months to marry your fiancé or fiancée.
Also known as the fiancé visa, applicants must be outside Australia when applying for the Subclass 300 visa.
Once granted the visa and after marrying, you may be eligible to apply for a Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801), which provides a pathway to permanent residency in Australia. In most cases, the Partner Visa also grants access to Medicare.
